The official spokesperson for the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Sufian Al-Qudah, emphasized the necessity for Israel to comply with this resolution, which also stresses the protection of civilians and the unimpeded delivery of humanitarian aid. The resolution aims to ensure that aid is adequately and sustainably delivered throughout the Gaza Strip. Al-Qudah further highlighted the importance of building upon this decision.

Ambassador Al-Qudah expressed hopes that this resolution would lead to an immediate and permanent ceasefire and urged the international community and the Security Council to take measures to protect the two-state solution. This includes ensuring the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state along the June 4, 1967, lines with East Jerusalem as its capital, thereby guaranteeing security, peace, and stability in the region.

Similarly, Egypt welcomed the adoption of the Security Council resolution demanding a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip during Ramadan, marking the first time such a decision has been made since the beginning of the crisis after repeated failures by the Security Council to reach a resolution calling for a permanent ceasefire.

The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated today that the issuance of this resolution, after more than five months of Israeli military operations causing severe damage to civilians in Gaza, represents a crucial first step towards stopping the bloodshed and preventing further Palestinian civilian casualties. It also allows for the opportunity to provide humanitarian aid.

Egypt called for the immediate implementation of the ceasefire, enabling a comprehensive approach to all elements of the crisis. The country affirmed its continued diligent efforts with international and regional parties to contain the Gaza crisis as quickly as possible.
