22% growth in Dubai Customs trade license business

Dubai (Union) Department of Planning and Development – ​​Trakhees, the regulatory arm of Ports, Customs and Free Zones Corporation in Dubai, has completed around 16,000 transactions in the first half of 2022, a growth of 22% compared to the previous period.
Annually, as the Licensing Department provides licensing services to local companies and regions, free and government relations such as issuing work permits, facility cards and non-obstructive certificates to official bodies.

Official statistics published by the Department’s Licensing Department indicate the growth rate of demand for local license services by the department’s customers, individuals and companies, with the renewal of local licenses reaching 7,067 transactions from January to the end of June this year. The service ranked first with 3426 transactions, followed by the service of amending local licenses with 1063 transactions, then reserving a new business name, which accounted for 951 transactions, and then issuing a new local license with 627 transactions.

In the same context, International City topped the list of sites that received local license transactions with 203 licenses, followed by Jumeirah Village Circle, followed by Palm Jumeirah, then Dragon Market, followed by Palm Deira.

At the level of government service transactions, the figures indicate a growth in the number of government transactions in the first half of 2022, with growth in the number of work permits issued by the department reaching 3,440 work permits approved in Dubai. , and completed 1270 transactions related to work permit renewal service.

In terms of free zone licenses, the free zone licenses renewal service topped the list of services requested by dealers in this specialty sector, reaching 527 transactions in the first six months of the year, followed by the business permit service with 185. Transactions, then reserving a name. Commercial under the category of free zone licenses with 78 transactions.

Chief Executive Officer, Department of Planning and Development, Engr. He emphasized the department’s interest in simplifying the process of requesting and extracting various business licenses by implementing a set of procedures and improvements conducted by the department in an integrated electronic system for issuing business licenses, adopting a culture of excellence in efficiency.
