Al Akaria partners with Marriott to launch Autograph Collection Hotels in Riyadh
Riyadh is preparing to unveil a new 280-room luxury hotel, thanks to a signed deal between Saudi Real Estate Company (Al Akaria) and Marriott International.
The pact will debut the Autograph Collection brand in Saudi Arabia's capital and anticipates the hotel's opening by 2028, following the start of construction in 2025.
Ibrahim Al-Alwan, Al-Akaria's CEO, expressed confidence in the venture setting luxury hospitality benchmarks in the region. This initiative aligns with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 by fostering tourism and hospitality in Riyadh and boosting the country's profile as a global tourist destination.
Additionally, the planned hotel will be part of a wider mixed-use area, offering shopping, dining, and entertainment options.
Chadi Hauch, Marriott's lodging development vice president for the Middle East, noted Saudi Arabia's dynamic tourism growth, which presents opportunities for expansion.
In recent months, Marriott has unveiled several projects in Saudi Arabia, including a Ritz-Carlton in Diriyah in December, two new luxury hotels with Sela Sport in November, and plans for W Hotel and JW Marriott properties in NEOM's Trojena in September.
