‘Al-Aqilat Museum’ tells the story of Saudi Arabia’s industrial beginnings

The exhibition "Saudi Made” opened recently as part of the Riyadh Season's events.
The "Al-Aqilat Museum", which is part of the exhibition, tells the story of a group of Saudi individuals who traveled between nations for trade and livelihood. It focuses on evoking the history of Saudi industries and connecting its past with present, in addition to providing people with an outstanding experience through a variety of activities associated with commercial practice.

The museum succeeded in giving the exhibition a unique glow, as it relates the tale of the rise of trade and varied Saudi products, from earlier ages to the present, through its collections.

Moreover, it showcased the heritage of Al-Aqilat tribe, their photos, documents and their holdings that document the journey of the Saudis in the fields of industry and commerce over the centuries. For his part, founder of the museum Abdul Latif Al-Wahaibi confirmed that one of the museum’s objectives is to document examples of handicrafts dating back hundreds of years, since the establishment of the Kingdom. He noted that the museum includes several handicrafts related to the Kingdom’s culture and heritage, as well as general and historical information about Al-Aqilat.

Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, Minister of Energy, had recently inaugurated the “Saudi Made” exhibition with the participation of 250 entities and 4500 products, in addition to providing more than 15 workshops, presented by 30 speakers alongside unique Saudi live shows.

This exhibition is a forum that brings together the most prominent Saudi industries and expertise to deliver Saudi products to global leadership and make them closer to consumers and the market.

The objectives of the "Saudi Made" exhibition are based on creating a cooperative society so that member companies will be the focus of its attention while supporting the public and private sectors. The idea of holding the exhibition within the activities of the Riyadh Season led to serving several sectors.

The exhibition also aims to develop the national industry and logistics services under the leadership of the Saudi Export Development Authority, support Saudi companies and accelerate their growth. It also aims to encourage local consumers to buy national products and motivate Saudi companies to export to priority markets.
