Al-Jadaan takes part in G20 meet stressing public digital infrastructure throughout the world

Minister of Finance Mohammed Bin Abdullah Al-Jadaan took part in the symposium which took place in the Indian city of Bangalore under the theme Public Digital Infrastructure leading to Innovative, Resilient, and Inclusive Growth and Effective Governance.
This symposium was held on the sidelines of the first meeting of finance ministers and governors of central banks of the Group Twenty, held under India presidency of the G20.

The symposium, which took place Friday, was attended by a number of finance ministers and governors of central banks of the G20 and a number of representatives of countries, chairpersons of international and regional organizations.

The meeting discussed ways of the contribution of public digital infrastructure in enhancing creativity, inclusive growth and flexibility building and enhancing governance efficiency.

The speakers cast light on many important issues, including the role of public digital infrastructure in enhancing creativity, flexibility, inclusive growth and effective governance, as well as the impact of public digital infrastructure throughout the world.

This is in addition to maximizing the benefit from it, particularly in launching the capabilities of achieving complete growth.

The participants shared their experiences in supporting the expansion of the public digital infrastructure zone at the global economic level, reviewed the challenges engulfing it and the opportunities envisaged, and underscored the need to seek the expansion of their zone to get a better benefit, particularly for those in dire need for it.

Digital public infrastructure is one of the most transformational digital innovations, which have emerged as an enabler of growth in many countries, including India, said Economic Affairs Secretary Ajay Seth.

An Indian Finance Ministry statement issued on Friday said that discussions in the symposium threw light on the potentials of DPI for leading to innovative, resilient, and inclusive growth while providing a means for efficient governance.

Nandan Nilekani, co-chair of India's G20 Task Force on DPI said that digital innovations lead to cost savings for governments, as well as increase in transparency and accountability. Leveraging DPI for inclusive growth and development is being steered by the G20 India Presidency as a key priority.
