CEMAC supports Kingdom’s bid to host Expo 2030, welcomes Saudi-African, Arab-African Summits in Riyadh

The Central African Economic and Monetary Community (CEMAC) President Prof. Daniel Ona Ondo, received Wednesday at the organization's headquarters in the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, the Advisor at the Royal Court, Ahmed Bin Abdulaziz Qattan, in the presence of the CEMAC's members.

During his meeting with members of the organization, Qattan spoke about the Saudi-African relations and ways to develop and strengthen them in various fields, stressing the keenness of Saudi Arabia's leadership to consolidate relations with it to serve the common interests.

The Advisor at the Royal Court also touched on the two summits that Saudi Arabia will host this year, the first Saudi-African Summit and the Fifth Arab-African Summit, in Riyadh, stressing that the Saudi-African summit, which will be held for the first time, stems from the Kingdom’s keenness to strengthen partnership with the countries of Africa.

Qattan referred to the Expo 2030 exhibition, which Saudi Arabia aspires to host in 2030 in Riyadh, noting the declared support received from African countries.

For his part, President Ondo expressed the organization’s welcome to the visit of Qattan, explaining that it is a high-level historical visit as the first Saudi official to visit it, noting that what Qattan expressed translates the distinguished relations between the Kingdom and CEMAC, noting the organization’s welcome to the efforts undertaken by the Kingdom in Africa.

Following the meeting, the organization issued a statement confirming its welcome to hold the two summits.

The statement commended the Kingdom's unremitting efforts through which it seeks to consolidate its relations with African countries, and affirmed its full support for Saudi Arabia's bid to host Expo 2030, in Riyadh.

For his part, Qattan expressed his thanks and appreciation of the government of Saudi Arabia for this support, which stems from the distinguished relations between the Kingdom and the members of the organization.

Meanwhile, President Faustin-Archange Touadéra of the Central African Republic, sent an official delegation to participate in the meeting held by the Advisor at the Royal Court Qattan, with the president and members of the group.

In a statement to the media after the meeting, Advisor to the President of the Central African Republic Adrian Boni Abombo announced his country's welcome to hold the two summits, the first Saudi-African Summit and the Fifth Arab-African Summit, in Riyadh, and his country's full support for the bid of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to host the "Expo 2030", in Riyadh.

For his part, Qattan expressed his thanks and appreciation of the Kingdom's government for this support, which stems from the distinguished relations between the two countries.

In Abuja, the Advisor at the Royal Court Qattan met with President of the Economic Community of West African States Commission (ECOWAS) Jean-Claude Kassi Brou.

The president praised the pivotal role of Saudi Arabia in boosting development and its several contributions to development projects and offering humanitarian aid to Africa.

During the meeting, talks reviewed the commercial, industrial and investment relations between Saudi Arabia and the commission and means to further enhance them, in addition to going over the importance of enhancing cooperation between Saudi Arabia and the commission in various fields and taking them to wider scopes.

Later on, Qattan met with members of the commission and spoke about the Saudi-African relations and means to develop them at all levels, stressing the keenness of Saudi Arabia’s leadership to further enhance ties with African countries in various domains that serve joint interests.

He also went over the two summits that Saudi Arabia is scheduled to host this year: the first Saudi-African summit and the fifth Arab-African summit in Riyadh, stressing that the Saudi-African summit, which will be held for the first time represent the keenness of Saudi Arabia’s government to enhance partnership with African countries.

Advisor Qattan also referred to the Expo 2030 that Saudi Arabia aspires to host in Riyadh, commending the announced support Saudi Arabia received from African counties.

For his part, ECOWAS president said that Qattan’s remarks highlight the distinguished relations between Saudi Arabia and ECOWAS member states, voicing the commission’s welcome of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s efforts in the African continent and praising the huge efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in combating terrorism and securing water passages that protect the world trade movement.
