Dan Co. CEO outlines agenda for agro-hospitality sector in Saudi Arabia
Dan Co. CEO, Abdulrahman Abaalkhail, has announced initiatives to transform Saudi Arabia's agro-hospitality sector.
Speaking at the Public Investment Fund Private Sector Forum, he revealed plans to empower Saudi farmers to become investors and entrepreneurs, with support from Dan Co., a company backed by the nation's sovereign wealth fund.
Abaalkhail's strategy focuses on leveraging local assets, encouraging community involvement, and promoting sustainability. This plan includes engaging local investors, creating jobs, and offering training.
Elaborating on the company's name, derived from the Qur’an, Abaalkhail emphasized accessibility and community ties. Dan Co. aims to develop themed agricultural and eco-resorts, starting with Al-Ahsa, celebrated for its sprawling palm groves.
Abaalkhail highlighted the importance of balancing environmental stewardship with tourism growth, from the outset of construction. While discussing future growth, he revealed more developments are expected later in the year and expressed the enthusiastic response from potential partners, indicating a strong, community-driven interest in the venture.
