Dr. Al-Rabeeah inspects KSrelief shelter aid for Ukrainian refugees in Poland

Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah, advisor at the Royal Court and supervisor general of King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), visited on Friday the UNHCR warehouse facilities in Rzeszow, Poland.
Accompanied by the Saudi Ambassador to Poland Saad Al-Saleh, he inspected the sheltering aid provided within the Kingdom’s $10 million grant to support Ukrainian refugees. Around $5 million of the grant was allocated to distribute to UNHCR through KSrelief, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

During the tour, UNHCR representatives assured Dr. Al-Rabeeah of the readiness for the provision of the assistance and the completion of the necessary arrangements to be distributed to the targeted refugees.

Dr. Al-Rabeeah also visited the UNHCR shelter distribution center where he was briefed on the distribution mechanism to beneficiaries and plans to respond to the emergency needs of refugees.

Dr. Al-Rabeeah said that the sheltering aid provided by the Kingdom, represented by KSrelief, targets nearly 100,000 refugees from Ukraine. He stressed that the Kingdom is always keen to support the refugees anywhere in the world, emanating from its humanitarian responsibility.

Dr. Al Rabeeah praised the high level of professionalism pursued by UNHCR, highlighting the close partnership between KSrelief and UNHCR.

It is noteworthy that UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, continues to scale up its operations in Poland to provide aid to refugees from Ukraine who have settled across the country.

Poland remains the main country of arrival for refugees from Ukraine, with more than 3.5 million having entered the country since the start of the war in February. Around 94 percent of the registered refugees are women and children.
