Egypt's Grand Egyptian Museum to provide the highest international standards for access to all its visitors

The Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) will provide the highest international standards for access to all visitors in its mission to preserve heritage and spread cultural awareness to all lovers of ancient Egyptian civilization.
GEM’s role is to serve all visitors including and offers visitors a unique and varied educational, cultural and entertaining experience that is made possible through allowing access to all people regardless of ability.

Upon the arrival at the GEM, there are parking and rest areas for all visitors. Access ramps provide the opportunity for all guests to visit the first Hanging Obelisk Square in the world, located at the front of the main façade.

After entering at the Atrium, where the huge statue of King Ramses II stands welcome, visitors will find escalators and elevators offering a quick and comfortable route through the museum.

There are three stops along the Grand Staircase that provide a pause to take in the unique artefacts along the accent with an enchanting panoramic view of the three pyramids.

All visitors can find easy access up to and movement around the exhibition galleries and the huge exhibition showcases that include the pyramids from inside the museum.

All needs are taken into consideration with regard to accessibility standards in museum displays such as the height of showcases and labels, as well as the use of Braille and audio guides.

Replicas of artefacts from different galleries have been made to be handled in order to provide tactile information.
