Elevate Your Audio Experience with a Portable Advanced Speaker for Gatherings with Family and Friends

Supports Connectivity with Numerous Devices and Musical Instruments for an Immersive Sound Experience with an Extended Battery Life.
For music enthusiasts who enjoy family "karaoke" gatherings, playing musical instruments, and those in search of high-quality sound, the Sony SRS-XV800 speaker promises a captivating audio experience with its advanced sound staging capabilities.

This speaker offers wireless music enjoyment, connection to portable memory units, listening to movie audio from TVs, mobile phones, or computers, amplifying guitar sounds, or singing along in gatherings using microphones. Al-Sharq Al-Awsat tested the speaker and here’s a summary of the experience.

Sleek and Practical Design

Despite its considerable size, the beautifully designed speaker can be placed anywhere in the home or carried in a car, offering usability wherever the user desires. Its plastic exterior reduces weight and facilitates easy transportation, while the front mesh provides protection without obstructing sound emission.

The speaker includes three handles (two on the top and one on the bottom) and rear wheels for mobility, touch-sensitive top buttons that light up for easy interaction in low light conditions, and top and bottom lights that change colors to the music rhythm, enhancing the visual pleasure.

Exceptional Sound Quality

The sound quality is exceptionally high, with volume levels sufficient to enrich gatherings of more than 20 people or outdoor use. The output is balanced, ensuring no single frequency band overwhelms the others, allowing mid-range frequencies, typically associated with vocal performances, to be clearly heard without being overshadowed by bass or treble tones.

Bass Amplification

When connected to power, the bass amplification quality increases, thanks to its dual fronts (front and rear bass outlets), generating clearer and more refined bass without overpowering other frequencies.

Comprehensive Sound Features

With a full charge, the built-in battery lasts for about 25 hours at a 30% volume level, utilizing bass boost technology without using the lighting. At a 65% volume level with bass boost and lighting activated, it can last for about 10 hours, or over three and a half hours at 100% volume. The speaker also supports fast charging, offering over three hours of use with just 10 minutes of charging.

It can simultaneously connect to two devices, allowing multiple users to play content as desired without delays. Users can connect their mobile phones to watch videos and movies with amplified sound, supporting SBC, AAC, and LDAC compression technologies (LDAC is exclusive to Android devices due to lack of support from Apple devices).

Apps for More Control

Two mobile apps, Sony Music Center and Fiestable, enable interaction with the speaker. Sony Music Center allows control over the speaker, pairing with other speakers, sound frequency adjustments, power settings, and connectivity options. Fiestable provides advanced lighting controls, microphone effects, and other DJ-centric features.

Technical Specifications

The speaker includes five tweeters (three front-facing and two rear-facing) and two bass speakers, offering balanced sound emission. It supports wireless Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity.

Multiple Ports for Immersive Use

Featuring a 3.5mm port for wired audio input, an optical port to connect to TVs, two microphone ports for "karaoke" gatherings, and a standard USB Type-A port for playing music directly from portable memory units. It also has a rear USB port for charging other devices directly from the speaker's battery. Special buttons adjust the music's pitch to match the user's voice tone when using a microphone.

Connectivity with Other Speakers

The speaker can be linked with an additional unit for stereo sound using the "Party Connect" feature, allowing easy pairing with other compatible speakers for amplified and balanced audio output.

Priced at 2299 Saudi Riyals (about 613 US Dollars), the speaker boasts a 77-watt power capacity, weighs 18.5 kilograms, measures 31.7x72x37.5 centimeters, and is splash-resistant according to the IPX4 standard, making it a versatile choice for music lovers and performers alike.
