Energy Minister: We are merciful and humane… ask our friends in Ukraine

Minister of Energy Prince Abdulaziz Bin Salman reaffirmed that Saudi Arabia is currently working with the Ukrainians to provide them with clean liquefied petroleum gas.
“We in the Kingdom are also merciful, and we are not devoid of emotions or humanity. Ask our friends in Ukraine,” he said while replying to a question by a delegate at the 44th International Association for Energy Economics (IAEE) Conference, which was inaugurated by the prince in Riyadh on Saturday.

“Everything that happened and is happening now regarding the so-called sanctions, embargoes, fall in investments, and others will result in only one thing — that is lack of energy supplies in all its forms when it is most needed.”

Prince Abdulaziz said that this is what he fears and what he does not want to be responsible for.

“This is what I used to warn people about and is still warning about. All this expected path for the future may be lost due to ignorance,” he said while pointing out that this is his personal opinion and should not be politicized.

The minister noted that he had promised that things would be better than what could be obtained, and that is his personal opinion and that he is not politicized.

“As a responsible citizen in this world, I want people to understand that what is happening today may lead to — hoping that I am wrong, but I hope —that it will not lead to a shortage of power supplies when it is in dire need,” he said.

Hosted in the MENA region for the first time, the six-day event, which brings together the world’s energy elite, is being held under the theme of “Pathways to a clean, stable, and sustainable energy future.”
