Dr. Israel Cedeño, director of the Metropolitan Health region, affirmed this Friday that the Expanded Program of Immunization (PAI), carries out the plan to inoculate the vaccine against COVID-19 in Panama "does not discriminate nationalities."
Panama has never discriminated in terms of vaccination, we vaccinate whoever is in the country, the foreigner may be doing tourism and if he is at the right time he can be vaccinated, said
Cedeño, ensuring that both Panamanians and foreigners will receive the dose.
He reiterated that in Panama the PAI does not discriminate age, sex, religion, much less nationality.
The official added that whoever comes to a Health Center will receive care regardless of whether he is a legal resident or not.
Likewise, the Minister of Health, Luis
Sucre, said that the Constitution and the Health Code say that the Government has responsibility for the entire population that is in the country; no one is going to be left out.
Cedeño's statements occurred during the installation of an express swab center in the Andrés Bello Park of Vía Argentina, which will be open until 1:00 pm.
