From 'Dead' to Alive: Astonishing Resuscitation in Rajasthan as Pakistan Faces Sectarian Strife and Global Developments Unfold

Rajasthan man's regaining of consciousness on funeral pyre prompts doctor suspensions amid investigation; sectarian clashes in Pakistan's Kurram district claim 33 lives as unrest intensifies.
In a startling situation from Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan, a man with disabilities, Rohitash Kumar, was mistakenly declared dead and shockingly regained consciousness on a funeral pyre due to a doctor's oversight following an epileptic seizure. Authorities have since suspended three doctors, and an investigation is underway after Kumar was confirmed dead during further hospital treatment.

Moving over to northwestern Pakistan, at least 33 individuals have lost their lives in sectarian clashes between Sunni and Shiite groups in the Kurram district, further inflamed by a recent deadly ambush related to a land dispute involving the Alizai and Bagan tribes. The turmoil has closed schools and seen severe property damage, as heavy weaponry is employed amid unresolved tensions.

Transitioning to international developments, the UN General Assembly committee has made a significant step towards a historic treaty on crimes against humanity, with 98 nations backing the effort after Russia retracted potential amendments that might have hampered progress. This initiative seeks to fill the gaps in international law, with preparatory sessions slated for 2026-2027 and negotiations anticipated to extend to 2028-2029.

In the Philippines, political tensions have escalated as President Ferdinand Marcos's security team increases vigilance following an "active threat" claim by Vice President Sara Duterte, intensifying existing friction as mid-term and presidential elections approach. The Duterte and Marcos families' strained relations are highlighted by accusations and strong rhetoric.

Heading to Turkiye, the government has replaced pro-Kurdish mayors in Tunceli and Ovacik with state officials following terrorism-related convictions, sparking controversy and criticism from opposition leaders. This is part of an ongoing government effort to address links to the Kurdistan Workers Party, raising concerns about democratic processes.

Finally, Islamabad, Pakistan, is under tight lockdown amid planned rallies by supporters of jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan, coinciding with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko’s visit. Security measures, including potential mobile service blackouts, aim to prevent disruptions, with protesters decrying the accusations against Khan as politically motivated.
