Hong Kong announces three imported cases today, compulsory tests in To Kwa Wan and North Point

Hong Kong has reported three new imported cases, one of which led to compulsory tests for two buildings in To Kwa Wan and North Point respectively.
A 36-year-old woman who lives in Tung Shun Hing Building, 22 Chekiang Street, To Kwa Wan, left for Nigeria on August 22. She was tested negative in Hong Kong the day before departure.

She returned to Hong Kong on September 10 on flight QR818 and was confirmed to have the L452R variant upon arrival.

The woman has received two doses of BioNTech vaccines on June 10 and July 1 in Hong Kong.

She works on the 28th floor of the Lee & Man Commercial Center in North Point and is a staff member of the PathLab Medical Laboratory. Her last working day was Aug. 21.

The Centre for Health Protection said the epidemiological investigation and case tracing of the case is still underway, and for prudence, the location where she resided and worked during the incubation period has been included in the compulsory testing notice.

Anyone who has been in the specified places during the specified period will be subject to compulsory testing on or before September 13.

As for the other two confirmed cases, a 31-year-old woman who arrived from Israel and received two doses of BioNTech vaccines in Hong Kong on May 3 and 24 was tested positive for the L452R variant.

Another was a 42-year-old man who arrived from Japan and received two doses of BioNTech vaccines in Hong Kong on March 23 and April 13.

Specified persons in relation to the following specified premises are also reminded to undergo compulsory testing in accordance with compulsory testing notices tomorrow:
• Tower 2, Phase 2A - Le Prestige, LOHAS Park, Tseung Kwan O
• Hong Kin House, Tsz Hong Estate, Tsz Wan Shan

The notices were issued following a case of a 42-year-old woman arriving from the US who has lived in Hong Kong within the past 21 days.
