Iran has detained 35 individuals linked to the fatal attacks in Kerman on January 3, according to the Intelligence Ministry's announcement on Thursday reported by Tasnim news agency.
The state news agency IRNA revealed that the attacks' mastermind, operating under the alias Abdollah Tajiki, is a Tajik national who had entered Iran in mid-December, departing shortly before the attacks after assembling the explosives.
One attacker has been identified as a 24-year-old dual Tajik and Israeli national with the surname Bozrov, who had reportedly received training from ISIS in
Afghanistan before crossing into Iran.
Efforts to identify the second assailant continue, though ISIS, claiming the attack, has stated the bombers as Omar Al-Mowahed and Seif-Allah Al-Mujahed.
The Islamic State took responsibility for the January 4th assaults that led to the deaths of nearly 100 and injured 284 at a service for Commander Qassem Soleimani. In response to the deadliest event since 1979, Tehran has promised retribution.
