The deceased included a Syrian and a Lebanese national, with a Palestinian among the injured. Wajih Khalil Fares, a local vendor, died while aiding the car strike victims. The coastal Jadra area saw its first strike since the recent Hezbollah-Israel hostility.

In January, another drone strike in Beirut's southern suburb, believed to target a Hamas site, resulted in the death of the group's deputy leader. The Israeli military further escalated by bombarding border towns and a Hezbollah missile strike targeted an Israeli military barrack.

Amidst this, Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian visited Beirut, engaging with top Lebanese officials and advocating for a political resolution in Gaza.

While confirming Iran's support for Lebanon's stability and the Palestinian cause, Amir-Abdollahian called for an urgent ceasefire and peace efforts in the region.

In meetings, both Israeli and Palestinian resistance strength and strategic crises were acknowledged, and Iranian support was given to initiatives aimed at post-war Palestinian governance.

Lebanese caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati also emphasized the region's complex circumstances and the need for regional peace and an end to Gaza hostilities.
