Jordan warns against Rafah offensive, probes death of citizen in Ramallah
Jordan has issued a warning against possible Israeli military operations in Rafah, a densely-populated refugee area in the southern Gaza Strip.
Foreign Affairs Ministry spokesperson, Sufyan Qudah, stressed Jordan's stance against the displacement of Palestinians, urging an end to conflict, civilian safeguarding, and the promotion of their return home.
He called for immediate global action to stop Israel's military actions in Gaza, which he labeled an "unprecedented humanitarian disaster," and pressed for the UN Security Council to quickly impose a ceasefire to prevent escalation.
In other news, Jordan is probing the death of a Jordanian in Ramallah, West Bank, and is coordinating with the deceased's family for repatriation once the inquiry is complete.
