Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vehemently rejected an application by ICC prosecutor Karim Khan for his arrest over alleged war crimes in Gaza.

The arrest warrants target Netanyahu, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, and three top Hamas leaders for alleged crimes including 'wilful killing' and 'extermination.' Netanyahu condemned the comparison between Israel and Hamas.

Conflict in Gaza began following an unprecedented Hamas attack on Israel, killing over 1,170 civilians.

Israel's response has led to at least 35,562 deaths in Gaza.

Other Israeli officials, including Foreign Minister Israel Katz and President Isaac Herzog, also strongly opposed the ICC bid, calling it a 'historical disgrace' and a threat to the international judicial system.
