OIC chief, Jordan FM discuss Israeli violations against Al Aqsa Mosque

Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Hissein Brahim Taha, during a telephone call with Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, discussed the continuous Israeli attacks against Al Aqsa Mosque, which represent a flagrant violation to the international law and relevant UN resolutions.
The secretary general stressed the OIC's solidarity with Palestinians and its absolute support to their legitimate rights in Jerusalem and sovereignty in the city, which is considered the capital of Palestine, praising the efforts exerted by the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to care for the holy sites in Jerusalem.

For his part, the Jordanian FM acquainted Taha with the efforts exerted by Jordan in cooperation with international sides to stop the Israeli violations against Al Aqsa Mosque, stressing the importance of preserving the historical and legal status quo of the holy sites and the important role of OIC towards the occupied Jerusalem.

This is in addition to the significance of launching a diplomatic and political movement with effective sides of the international community to pressure Israel, the occupying force, to put an end to its attacks on the occupied Jerusalem and its holy sites.

Taha, earlier in a telephone call Monday with Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyadh Al-Maliki, discussed the continuous Israeli procedures against Al-Aqsa Mosque.

He stressed OIC's solidarity with Palestinians and its absolute support to their legitimate rights in Jerusalem and sovereignty in the city, which is considered the capital of Palestine, stressing that these Israeli practices represent a flagrant violation to the international law and relevant UN resolutions.

For his part, Al-Maliki acquainted Taha with the dangerous conditions resulting from the escalation of daily break-ins and raids of extremist settlers, under the protection of Israeli forces, to Al-Aqsa Mosque and worshippers and their attempts to impose temporal and spatial division of Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Al-Maliki also called for an effective Islamic mobilization at all political, diplomatic and legal levels to garner the widest international pressure on Israel, the occupying force, to put an end to its attacks on Jerusalem and its holy sites.
