Panamanian Adalberto Carrasquilla signs for the Houston Dynamo

Panamanian midfielder Adalberto Carrasquilla has been announced as a new player for the Houston Dynamo of the MLS.
Adalberto Carrasquilla will play in the MLS with the Houston Dynamo, after closing the loan agreement of the Panamanian with FC Cartagena of the second division of Spain.

"Adalberto is a player whose progress we have been following in Spain for quite some time, and someone we got to know even better during his time in Houston for the Gold Cup," Senior Vice President and General Manager Matt Jordan said in a statement in Houston Dynamo official website. "His quality as a player and his character as a person will make him a great fit with our group as we continue to strengthen our roster during this transfer window."

'Coco' Carrasquilla has shown a great level with the Panama team , both in the knockout matches, playing five of the six matches of the previous round, four of them as a starter, only missing the match against Anguilla, and then in the 2021 Gold Cup, playing the three games of the 'Red' in the tournament, being a starter in all. In total, he has 18 games and a goal with the senior team, in addition to 4 games and another score with the U-22 team at the Pan American Games in Lima 2019.

The 22-year-old midfielder made his debut with FC Cartagena in September 2019, being a key player in achieving promotion from third to the Spanish second division. In the last season in LaLiga SmartBank he played 28 games, 20 of them as the starter of the 42 days in total that are played in the regular tournament of the second division.

Adalberto Carrasquilla's first professional match was on March 29, 2015 with Tauro FC against Árabe Unido in a Panamanian Football League (LPF) match when he was just 16 years old. With the Albinegro team he played five seasons in which he played 86 games in the first division, scored 4 goals and was champion twice before going to Spanish football. He also played 10 matches in international Concacaf tournaments with the bullfighting team (6 in the Concacaf League and 4 in the Concacaf Champions League).
