The picture of a 9-year-old boy, seen carrying three bags on his back, became an instant hit on social media.
Mishal Al-Shahrani was seen carrying the bags of his sisters Sarah and Noura along with his own bag when they were returning home from their school in Khamis Mushayt in the southern Asir region.

The marvelous scene grabbed the attention of their father who took a picture and posted it on his family WhatsApp group.

The picture went viral instantly, grabbing the attention of many people, who liked, commented and shared the picture, Al-Arabiya.net reported.

Commenting on the tremendous response to the picture, Mishal, a student of Ibn Nafees Elementary School in Khamis Mushayt, said: “I always like to help my family, especially my sisters Sarah and Noura while returning from school.”

“The bags were not heavy, but I wanted to help them in the crowd and the hot weather,” he said while noting that he came to know about the photograph taken by his father only after it went viral on social media.

In their comments, the governor of Khamis Mushayt and the director of education in Asir region heaped praise on the boy for his noble act.

“This reflects the outcome of good raising and preparing the child to shoulder responsibility despite his young age,” they commented.

Asir Education Director Dr. Ahmed Al-Omari commented: “A beautiful position, and a more beautiful snap, embodying great meaning.

“Everyone is a partner in making it — home, school and society — and it is not surprising that this child has embodied such an approach.”
