Poet Prince Badr: Saudi culture represents Saudi soft powers in Arab, Islamic world

Eminent Saudi poet Prince Badr bin Abdul Mohsin said that Saudi culture in the era of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman is witnessing unprecedented keenness and attention.
“The Saudi culture constitutes one of the elements of soft powers for Saudi Arabia in the Arab and Islamic world,” he said while attending the Riyadh International Book Fair.

Prince Badr expressed happiness at signing the anthology of his poetic works at the fair. “It’s an immense pride for me to see the prestigious position that the Riyadh International Book Fair has occupied at the regional and international levels,” he said.

Prince Badr signed his anthology of poetic works at the pavilion dedicated to his poetic works in the 10-day book fair, which is being held at the Riyadh Front under the theme of ‘Culture Chapters.’

The anthology included five collections of poems such as Witnessing of letters; Important Clouds; Painting perhaps a poem; Message from a Bedouin, and what carves the sparrow in the Athaq dates. The anthology is considered as one of the most distinguished poetic works that influenced the literary life in Saudi Arabia.

It is noteworthy that Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman decorated Prince Badr bin Abdul Mohsen with the Sash of King Abdulaziz in appreciation of his contributions and efforts in serving the national cultural scene.

On the occasion of World Poetry Day, UNESCO honored the prince for his artistic contributions over the past 40 years at a function held at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris.

The Saudi Literature, Publishing, and Translation Commission had announced earlier its intention to start collecting the complete poetic and literary works of Prince Badr bin Abdul Mohsin, and reprint their new editions.
