Virgin Islands (VI) Premier and Minister of Finance Dr the Honourable Natalio D. Wheatley (R7) is currently in Nassau, The Bahamas for the Regional Meeting of the Heads of Government of the Caribbean.

The meeting, currently being held from August 16-17, 2022 at Baha Mar Resort, is in preparation for the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP 27) in Egypt in the month of November 2022.

Dr the Hon Wheatley’s attendance at the conference is with the goal of devising a regional position on climate change mitigation while The Bahamas’ Prime Minister the Hon Philip E. Davis said his administration is introducing the conference to get results in the climate change fight.

He added that The Bahamas, along with the region, has lobbied for years and held meetings for the world to acknowledge our vulnerable position of the region.
