Passengers and crew of British Airways Flight 149, who were taken hostage in Kuwait in 1990, have initiated legal action against the UK government and the airline.

The lawsuit claims both parties knowingly allowed the flight to land despite being aware of Iraq's invasion, and used it to insert a covert special ops team into Kuwait.

The High Court claim, filed by 94 individuals, accuses the UK government and BA of endangering civilians and causing physical and psychiatric harm.

The UK government and British Airways have denied any wrongdoing.
