The Houthi rebels have targeted shipping routes in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden, claiming these attacks are in solidarity with Palestinians during the Gaza conflict.

The strikes came shortly after the Houthis launched a drone attack on Tel Aviv, which the Israeli military reported intercepting.
