Saudi Arabia condemns, denounces Israeli forces' storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Saudi Arabia’s condemnation and denunciation of the Israeli occupation forces' storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque, closing its gates and attacking defenseless worshipers inside it as well as inside its external squares.
The ministry considers this systematic escalation a blatant attack on the sanctity of Al-Aqsa Mosque and its status in the conscience of the Islamic nation, and a violation of relevant international resolutions and charters.

The Kingdom also called on the international community to play its role in holding the Israeli occupation forces fully responsible for the repercussions of the continuation of such crimes and violations on the defenseless Palestinian people, their territory and their holy sites, as well as on the chances of reviving the peace process in the Middle East.

Meanwhile, the Secretariat General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) strongly denounced the invasion of Israeli forces and closure of gates of Al-Aqsa mosque, injuring as many as 152 worshippers and arresting hundreds, considering this dangerous escalation an attack against the feelings of the entire Islamic nation and a flagrant violation of the international resolutions and charters.

In a statement, OIC held the Israeli occupation responsible of the repercussions of such daily crimes and offenses against the Palestinian people, their territories and sanctuaries. The OIC also called on the UN Security Council to shoulder its responsibility to protect the Palestinian people as well as the sacred places and prevent the repetition of the Israeli attacks fueling the notion of extremism, religious dispute and instability in the region.

In Amman, the Jordanian government strongly denounced Saturday the invasion of Israeli forces and closure of gates of Al-Aqsa Mosque. In a statement, spokesperson of the Jordanian Foreign Ministry Haitham Abul-Foul considered the invasion of the holy mosque a flagrant violation and rejected by all means, demanding the Israeli authorities to discharge its special forces and police out of the holy place.

Bahrain too condemned the Israeli police storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque, which resulted in violence, injury and arrest of tens of worshippers, considering the move a provocation to Muslims feelings, particularly in this month of Ramadan.

In a statement, the Foreign Ministry of Bahrain underscored the importance of respecting the sanctity of Al-Aqsa Mosque and Al-Haram Al-Sharif as well as respecting the role of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in caring for the holy sites and endowments according to international law and the current historical situation.

It called on the international community to shoulder its responsibility to cool the situation down to pave the way for a fair and inclusive peace process based on the two-state solution and the Arab initiative.

The statement confirmed Bahrain's firm position supportive for the rights of the Palestinian people according to the international legitimacy.
