Saudi Arabia condemns Houthis’ terrorist attack on Al-Dabba oil terminal

Saudi Arabia condemns Houthis’ terrorist attack on Al-Dabba oil terminal

The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) condemned the terrorist attack committed by the extremist Houthi militia on Friday, Oct. 21, using two unmanned drones targeting Al-Dabba oil port in Hadhramaut as an oil tanker was docked in the port.
This is in a flagrant breach of the UN security council resolution No. 2216 and a violation of the international laws and norms.

The move also confirms the continuation of the terrorist Houthi militia and whoever backs them to target civil and economic installations as well as world energy supplies and passages and threatens to pollute the maritime environment.

MoFA said that this attack is considered an escalation by the Iran-backed terrorist Houthi militia following the end of the UN-sponsored truce in Yemen, which the militia has rejected to renew or expand despite all efforts exerted in this regard.

The Houthis rejected the extension of the truce despite the keenness of the Yemeni legitimate government to provide all possible facilities for its renewal emanating from its responsibility towards the Yemeni sisterly people.

MoFA confirmed the Kingdom's firm position supportive to whatever guarantees the security and stability of the Yemeni Republic and achieves the aspirations of the Yemeni sisterly people.

It confirmed the continuation of the support of the alliance for the Yemeni legitimate government and the efforts of the United Nations aiming to renew the truce and stop fighting in Yemen and reach an inclusive political solution to the crisis in Yemen.

Meanwhile, the General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) condemned in the strongest terms the terrorist attack launched by the Houthi terrorist militia yesterday, on the Al-Dabba oil terminal in Hadramout Governorate.

The OIC Secretary-General Hissein Brahim Taha stressed that this terrorist attack represents a threat to energy supplies at the regional and international levels, and is a violation of UN Security Council Resolution No. 2216, a violation of international laws and norms, a threat to global energy corridors and a threat to the marine environment.

The General Secretariat renewed its support for the efforts of the UN and its Special Envoy, as well as the efforts of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC) and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The OIC affirmed its permanent support for Yemen in order to alleviate the suffering of its people and realize its hopes and aspirations for peace, security, stability and development.

At the same time, the OIC called on the Houthi militia to respond to international and regional efforts to renew the truce, and to cooperate with all efforts to reach a political and comprehensive solution to the Yemeni crisis.
