Alkhorayef stated that the Kingdom’s commitment to building a strong economic base aims to contribute to covering domestic consumption and enhancing the competitiveness of local industry globally, in addition to increasing non-oil exports.

Adopting the concept of total quality is considered one of the most important tools for the success of institutions that aspire to achieve excellence and make a difference, Alkhorayef said.

He said that in order to ensure the building of a strong industrial foundation based on quality, the ministry is keen to implement total quality in the industrial and mining sector, whether through regulations, legislation or various other initiatives.

Quality is not just a product to be sold, but rather a combination of concepts that must be transformed into a well-established culture in institutions, he added.

Alkhorayef emphasized the role of governments and legislators in directing the private sector toward adopting the quality concepts, as well as their consolidation of quality and their sensing of its direct impact on the sector's work, which increases its competitiveness.

Saudi Arabia is rich in many natural resources, and is blessed with a distinguished geographic location that enables it to access a large number of markets, he pointed out.

Alkhorayef confirmed that the industrial strategy in Saudi Arabia works on exploiting natural resources in a way that contributes to cover the domestic consumption, which will also ensure health, food and military security for the country.
