Presented at the Health Forum in Riyadh, the National Insurance program will be state-funded, won't require annual renewal, and ensures lifetime coverage. It will also remove the need for prior approvals.
Al-Jalajel expects the private health insurance sector to witness five-fold growth in the coming years, driven by population growth, premium residency holders, and rising tourism. The private sector’s role in health services provision is projected to increase from 20% to 50%. The Health Ministry is undergoing a major shift as, from 2024, all health clusters will move to the Health Holding Company.
Emphasizing investment potential, Al-Jalajel mentioned investment opportunities worth SR330 billion in the health sector by 2030. He further noted improvements in road safety, reductions in premature deaths due to chronic diseases, and introduced the Saudi Center for Proton Therapy, aiming to bolster medical tourism.
