The Saudi Embassy in Morocco has confirmed that a Saudi citizen has been killed in Casablanca when a group of people attacked him following a quarrel.
The embassy said in a statement early Friday that it had followed up the details of the tragic incident since it occurred with the competent Moroccan authorities, and accordingly it was learned that the Saudi national was killed by security guards working with a Casablanca hotel where the latter was staying.
The embassy confirmed that the alleged assailants were arrested by the Moroccan security authorities and the case was still under investigation.
The embassy said it had full confidence in the Moroccan justice system and it was closely monitoring the case.
The embassy also noted that it was currently coordinating with the Moroccan authorities to transfer the man’s body to the Kingdom after completing the necessary legal procedures.
