Summer Sizzle BVI, BVICCHA to host Tortola model workshop

Summer Sizzle BVI in partnership with BVICCHA will host The Model Workshop on Saturday, May 14, 2022, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Forge, R&R Malone Complex located in Pockwood Pond, Tortola.

Following the workshop, there will be model castings for children and adults for Summer Sizzle BVI’s 12th Anniversary, fashion, and lifestyle destination event scheduled for July 20 – 25, 2022.

“Over the years since I began producing Summer Sizzle BVI, I have seen a rising interest in the Creative Arts including Fashion and Modeling by our children and youth. I have seen many of the BVI models selected improved their self-confidence from the training we provide.

Some of our local models also went on to compete in the various pageants, local and international shows, photoshoots and advertising campaigns. I am committed to the development of aspiring models (adults and children) in the BVI and it is important that they have the knowledge of the modeling industry” stated Terry Donovan, Founder, and Producer of Summer Sizzle BVI.

The interactive workshop cover topics including:

*  Building your self-esteem

*  How to become a model

*  Different type of models

*  What agencies look for

*  Building your portfolio

*  Posing and walking lessons

Kristian Lopez Bio

Kristian Lorén Lopez was born and raised in Philadelphia where, at an early age, she developed her creative passion for fashion.

Lopez styled dynamic looks for her sister, Sessilee, out of tablecloths and curtains and sent her to walk the ‘runway’ for their mom. Years later, the Lopez sisters would support and inspire each other, Sessilee a top model, and Lopez a designer.

Lopez has over 14 years of experience in the Fashion industry, the majority of which has been spent guiding the careers of some of Fashion’s top models. She has worked as a senior model agent at Major Models, Wilhelmina Models, and now Muse Model Management.

Each day, she provides international fashion companies with beautiful models to portray in campaigns, e-commerce shoots, or fashion shows. Her models have been featured in top fashion magazines and campaigns, such as VOGUE, ITALIAN VOGUE, HARPER BAZAAR, V MAGAZINE, NUMERO, FRENCH MAGAZINE, ELLE, GAP, PRADA, COVER GIRL, and many more.

Threading together all parts of the fashion ethos, Lopez started her fashion line. In 2018, Lopez was named one of Essence Magazine’s ‘Designers to Watch,’ and her ready-to-wear collection was featured in Essence’s Fashion House 2019. The Kristian Lorén Collection has been seen in Bloomingdales and has collaborated with companies like Janie And Jack and American Girl.

Sessile Lopez Bio

In September of 2009, she appeared alongside Arlenis Sosa, Jourdan Dunn, and Chanel Iman on the cover of i-D Magazine and was on the covers of Vogue Italia, Harpers Bazaar, and French Numero.

Sessilee has walked the runways for Givenchy, Hermés, Dolce & Gabbana, Oscar De La Renta, Marc Jacobs, Karl Lagerfeld, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Lanvin, Emporio Armani, Diane Von Furstenberg, Dries Van Noten, Rag & Bone, Tory Burch, Fendi, Carolina Herrera, Mulberry, Tommy Hilfiger, La Perla, Missoni, Vivienne Westwood, Alexander Wang, and Zac Posen.

She has appeared in advertising campaigns for Hermés, Calvin Klein, Lanvin, DKNY, Halston, Tommy Hilfiger, Gap, Uniqlo, Barneys New York, H&M, Benetton, Nordstrom, Macy's, Sak's Fifth Avenue, Levi's, and MAC Cosmetics.
