Turkiye's Telecom Overhaul Promises Broader Internet Access Amid Global Developments: From Israel's Gaza Claims to Tunisia's Corruption Probe and Baku's Climate Progress

Turkiye consolidates fiber infrastructure to boost broadband access and competition.
Turkiye is planning to consolidate its telecom fiber infrastructure into a singular management system to boost broadband access, which could help smaller service providers compete against the dominant Turk Telekom, facilitating faster and broader Internet adoption nationwide.

Moving to the Middle East, Israel, amid nearing deadlines for US aid restrictions, claims progress in improving conditions in Gaza, although security concerns keep many commercial restrictions in place, despite significant but disputed humanitarian challenges remaining.

Meanwhile in North Africa, Tunisian olive oil magnate Abdelaziz Makhloufi, also known for his football club presidency, was detained as part of a corruption probe into the management of olive-planted state lands, shadows of which loom over the country's significant olive oil export expectations.
