This ambitious plan is expected to create approximately 200,000 new jobs and stimulate economic growth, contributing to about 3% of the national GDP.

The strategy encompasses multiple sectors, including power, industry, transport, buildings, waste, and agriculture, with a focus on improving efficiency, increasing the deployment of renewable energy sources, and reducing emissions.

The UAE's Net Zero 2050 Strategy sets clear emission reduction targets for various sectors, such as zero emissions in the power and water sector by 2050 and a significant reduction in emissions from industry, transport, buildings, waste, and agriculture.

Nature-based solutions, carbon capture technologies, and the planting of 100 million mangroves by 2030 are part of the strategy to achieve negative emissions.

The plan includes several key enablers, such as climate finance mechanisms, technology development, and upskilling and capabilities plans.

The Ministry of Climate Change and the Environment will coordinate the efforts of over 45 major stakeholders to implement this ambitious strategy, aligning with the UAE's commitment to climate action and sustainability.
