Hezbollah stated that its fighters engaged in combat with Israeli forces within the vicinity of Zawtar Al-Sharqiyah, located north of the Litani river on Wednesday.

This development comes a day after Israel's military announced an expansion of its ground operations.

According to Lebanese authorities, at least 31 individuals lost their lives due to intensified strikes by Israel in south and east Lebanon on Tuesday, despite the declaration of a ceasefire.

Simultaneously, Hezbollah maintained its attacks against Israeli targets.

Hezbollah released a statement confirming that its members 'clashed with enemy forces at close range' using light and medium weaponry in Zawtar Al-Sharqiyah, which lies near the Israeli-defined 'yellow line' in southern Lebanon where Israeli troops have been active.

Prior to these hostilities, Hezbollah claimed it had faced Israeli troops entering the town since early Tuesday.

The strategic significance of Zawtar Al-Sharqiyah is highlighted by its proximity to Nabatieh, a major city just six kilometers from the location of conflict.

In response to the escalation, Israel's army issued an updated evacuation warning for Nabatieh city, reiterating their intention to take forceful action against Hezbollah.

The Israeli military has accused Hezbollah of violating the ceasefire agreement.

The advance by Israeli troops towards Zawtar Al-Sharqiyah follows a declaration from an Israeli military official that soldiers had begun operating beyond what is referred to as the 'yellow line', approximately 10 kilometers deep within Lebanese territory, where locals were warned against returning.

On Tuesday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed the intensification of operations in Lebanon.

He stated that the Israeli army was deploying significant forces on the ground and securing positions that offered strategic dominance.

This move aims to reinforce a security buffer zone intended to protect northern Israeli communities.
