Panama has added a total of 1,127 new cases of COVID-19 for this Saturday, bringing the total number of infections to 66,383, according to the Ministry of Health.
With 28 new deaths, the total number of deaths linked to virus in the country is 1,449, which represents a case fatality rate of 2.1%.
There are a total of 40,081 clinically recovered patients.
According to the epidemiological report, of the active patients, 22,743 are in home isolation (641 confined in hotels), while another 1,469 are hospitalized (1,303 in the ward and 166 in intensive care).
According to the age group, patients between the ages of 20 and 59 continue to be the most affected in terms of infection, however, most deaths correspond to those over 60 years of age.
