Lucid Reports Over 1,000 EVs Assembled at Saudi Plant Since 2023 Launch
The EV maker says its Saudi facility has begun real-volume output, signalling deepening industrial integration under Saudi’s green-auto push
The luxury electric-vehicle maker Lucid Group disclosed that its first international plant in Saudi Arabia has assembled over one thousand electric vehicles since its inauguration in September 2023. The count was revealed in a company statement summarizing third-quarter 2025 output.
According to that statement, Lucid produced 3,891 vehicles globally during the third quarter, and separately more than 1,000 cars destined for final assembly at its Saudi facility in King Abdullah Economic City.
The company added that it had delivered 4,078 vehicles in that quarter and manufactured 9,966 vehicles in the first nine months of 2025 — excluding those en route to Saudi Arabia.
The Saudi plant, codenamed AMP-2, had begun operations with a “semi knocked-down” (SKD) assembly process, where cars pre-manufactured in the U.S. are shipped as kits for local re-assembly.
The initial capacity of the plant was listed at 5,000 vehicles annually.
With this milestone passed, Lucid has signalled its intent to transition ultimately to Complete Build Unit (CBU) manufacturing, with a long-term target capacity of up to 155,000 vehicles annually.
Lucid’s expansion in Saudi Arabia forms a core element of the Kingdom’s strategy to develop a domestic electric-vehicle manufacturing industry.
Backed by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), the plant supports local employment and supply-chain development.
Company executives have stressed that the plant’s early phase prioritised workforce training, before increasing production output.
Observers view the milestone of 1,000+ assembled units as confirmation that Lucid’s Saudi operation is transitioning from pilot phase to a growing production base.
As Lucid moves toward full-scale local manufacturing, the facility is likely to play an increasingly central role in the firm’s global EV strategy and in Saudi Arabia’s broader efforts to diversify its economy and accelerate electric-mobility adoption.
