TRIPOLI: At least four people were killed when two boats carrying 95 irregular migrants capsized off the Libyan coastal city of Al Khums on Thursday, according to the Libyan Red Crescent.
The organization reported this information through a statement on
Facebook.
Initially, one boat was transporting 26 Bangladeshi migrants, out of whom four died, as per the statement.
Additionally, a second boat held 69 irregular migrants comprising two Egyptians and numerous Sudanese nationals; however, the fate of these individuals remains unspecified.
This incident highlights the ongoing challenges faced by migrants attempting to cross the Libyan sea borders in pursuit of better opportunities abroad.
