The incident occurred as the Israeli defense systems attempted to intercept the incoming projectile, according to an official statement released by the military.

No casualties were recorded, with confirmation provided by Israeli police authorities.The Houthi militant group, based in Yemen and aligned with Iran, has claimed responsibility for the attack, asserting that it conducted three operations targeting Israel.

Among these was the launch of a ballistic missile towards Ben Gurion Airport, located near Tel Aviv.

This claim was made through a televised statement by Yahya Saree, identified as the Houthi group's military spokesperson.The Israeli response to the ongoing tensions remained restrained; however, the situation highlights an escalating pattern of hostilities between Israel and the Yemen-based Houthi group.

The latter has been actively engaged in launching attacks against Israel and targeting shipping lanes, which they claim is in solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza.

Despite their claims, most of the missiles and drones launched by the Houthis have either been intercepted or failed to reach their targets.In response to these actions, Israel has conducted a series of retaliatory strikes.
