Cabinet approves CEDA decisions on indicators and targets

The Cabinet, chaired by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman on Tuesday at Irqah Palace here, approved the Strategic Committee of the Council of Economic and Development Affairs (CEDA) decisions and assignments taken in regard to indicators and targets resulting from the National Outputs Review Workshop.
The Cabinet hailed the distinguished relations with the Republic of Iraq and reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s support for the Iraqi government’s efforts to achieve sustainable growth and prosperity for its country and people.

It reviewed the recent talks between Saudi Arabia and several other countries, held with the goal of strengthening cooperation and bonds of friendship, and to take them to broader areas of cooperation to serve common interests and provide conditions that nurture regional and global development and stability.

The Cabinet also discussed the latest regional and international developments, stressing Saudi Arabia’s solidarity with the countries struck by Monday’s earthquakes, which resulted in deaths, injuries and missing people.

In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Minister of State, Cabinet’s Member for Shoura Council Affairs and Acting Minister of Media Dr. Essam Bin Saad Bin Saeed said that the Cabinet addressed a number of reports on the regional and international conferences hosted by Saudi Arabia during the week to keep pace with developments in the world, contribute to finding solutions to the global challenges, and drawing investment in available opportunities in a manner that enhances Saudi Arabia’s leadership and pivotal global role.

The Cabinet also stressed that the election of Saudi Arabia as chair of the Executive Council of the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO), a post it will hold until 2030, highlights the Kingdom’s pioneering role in the field of technology and digital economy, as well as its efforts during its presidency of the DCO in promoting joint action with member states towards building a promising digital future for all.

The Cabinet authorized the minister of sports to hold talks with the Indonesian side regarding a draft memorandum of understanding between the Saudi Ministry of Sports and the Indonesian Ministry of Youth and Sports.

It also approved a memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Sports of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Sports Development in the Republic of Uzbekistan for cooperation in the field of sports.

The Cabinet approved a memorandum of understanding on political consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Maldives.

It authorized the minister of culture to discuss with the German side a draft memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the cultural field between the Ministry of Culture in Saudi Arabia and the German Federal Foreign Office.

The Cabinet authorized the minister of justice to sign a draft memorandum of understanding for cooperation between the Ministry of Justice in Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Justice in the Union of Comoros.

It authorized the chairman of the Board of Directors of the Education and Training Evaluation Commission to hold talks with the Naif Arab University for Security Sciences regarding a draft memorandum of understanding between the Education and Training Evaluation Commission in Saudi Arabia and the Naif Arab University for Security Sciences for cooperation in the field of measurement, evaluation, and accreditation.

The Cabinet approved a memorandum of cooperation between the King Abdulaziz Foundation of Saudi Arabia and the National Agency for the Advancement of Culture (Library and National Archives) of the Republic of Djibouti.

It stated that the considered rehabilitation of land mentioned in the Cabinet Decision No. (285) dated 6/17/1436 AH shall be as what was before the issuance of the Royal Decree No. (21679) dated 9/11/1387 AH, by constructing the land dissociated from public and private jurisdictions and properties, whether by building or cultivating it after its full acquisition according to regulations.

It amended paragraph 4 of Article 7 of the organization of the Saudi Accreditation Center, issued by Cabinet Decision No. 600 on 22/10/1440 AH, to read: “Approval of the structure and organizational guide of the center.”
