Saudi Arabia's aviation sector is poised for a digital revolution with its new airlines and airports, according to an aviation IT expert.
Adonis Succar, a business development director at SITA, shared with Arab News at the Global Aviation Issues Conference in Riyadh on December 20, that the Kingdom has an exceptional opportunity for innovation, capable of pioneering unique digital experiences for travelers.
SITA has collaborated with various Saudi partners on digital advancements, such as a biometric project in Riyadh and the tech-forward Riyadh Air. Succar stressed that today’s passengers demand a fully digital and seamless journey, from booking to arrival.
Succar also highlighted the significance of data privacy and the necessity for transparent communication with travelers regarding their shared information. Furthermore, he noted that the
COVID-19 pandemic accelerated digitalization, easing regulations across the Middle East.
For effective technology integration, Succar emphasized the need for collaboration among all stakeholders, ensuring that everyone involved understands the vision and goals of these airport projects.
