Kuwait eases COVID-19 restrictions, resumes direct flights to Morocco, Maldives
Kuwait’s Cabinet took a slew of measures aimed at easing coronavirus restrictions in the country during a weekly session on Monday, the Kuwaiti News Agency (KUNA) reported on Monday.
In one of the key measures, the Cabinet reversed its earlier decision on the closure of all commercial activities at 8:00 p.m., beginning on Tuesday (July 27), said Tareq Al-Mezrem, the spokesman for the Cabinet, during a virtual press conference, according to the KUNA report.
In the weekly meeting headed by Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah at Seif Palace, the Cabinet decided to open all activities, except for gatherings, conferences, wedding parties, social occasions, and all children actions as of Sept. 1.
As part of the new measures, there are no entry restrictions for those who have been inoculated against coronavirus, however, unvaccinated individuals can enter pharmacies, cooperative societies, parallel markets, and food and catering centers, effective from Aug. 1.
Additionally, the Cabinet decided to resume direct flights to Morocco and the Maldives from Aug. 1.
