The Transport General Authority (TGA), in collaboration with the Aramco Marine Training Academy, has officially accredited Najla bint Salman Al-Naimi as the Kingdom's first assistant marine trainer.

Najla Al-Naimi becomes first accredited Saudi female marine trainer

Najla bint Salman Al-Naimi has achieved a historic milestone by becoming Saudi Arabia's first accredited female marine trainer, officially recognized by the Transport General Authority (TGA) in partnership with the Aramco Marine Training Academy.

This achievement is a significant step toward the qualification of both male and female trainers in the maritime transport sector, aligning with international maritime standards and the National Strategy for Transport and Logistics Services. It reflects Saudi Arabia's commitment to empowering women in the maritime industry.

The initiative aims to increase women's participation in the maritime sector by providing them with access to specialized maritime courses and opportunities to work with maritime companies and ports, following international training standards outlined in the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification, and Watchkeeping for Seafarers 1978, as amended.

To obtain accreditation as marine trainers, female staff must complete specialized marine training courses, pass evaluation tests, acquire a Trainer of Trainers certification, and undergo a fitness examination.

Najla Al-Naimi successfully met these stringent requirements through her training at the Aramco Maritime Training Academy, supervised by the Maritime Transport Sector at the General Authority for Transport.
