Panama's envoy lauds humanitarian efforts

Ambassador of the Republic of Panama to the State of Qatar H E Mousa Abdelhae Asvat Kasu, praised the efforts and initiatives of the State of Qatar and the great role it has played in supporting just causes and providing humanitarian aid to brotherly and friendly countries in various regions of the world.
The Ambassador extended his warmest congratulations to Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the government, and the Qatari people on the occasion of the National Day celebration.

In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), the Ambassador said: “The year 2021 represents a year of reflection and new challenges due to COVID-19, and we highlight that Qatar succeeded in managing the crisis during this pandemic, as it managed, through a national plan to respond to COVID-19, and maintain one of the lowest death rates in the world, I believe that Qatari economy overcame the impact of coronavirus as we saw government manage the crisis with food supply in advance readiness and commercial activities were never stopped.”

He added: “Qatar is a country of convergence of cultures, which is helping in hosting a big event like FIFA World Cup. I believe that the rehearsal of Arab Cup will help to host the first and best World Cup in the region of Middle East”, adding: “From the first moment Qatar won the organisation of the World Cup, the Government and all Ministries and institutions started planning and working together to make this event be successful. The building process and execution of works was done expectedly and on time.”

The Ambassador pointed out: “The Republic of Panama established diplomatic relations with Qatar on February 8, 2002, and over the past 19 years, bilateral relations have been entrenched in the framework of respect and equality. Our relations today have been greatly enhanced, since Qatar and Panama established relations and signed seven agreements in various fields and eighteen draft agreements are between ready to be signed and pending, so we consider that the relations of friendship and cooperation between both countries are close. We are working together to foresee public opportunities for Qatar and Panama, as is the one most stable politically and economically in the region, we are the real Hub of Americas.”
