Ronaldo's Future at Al-Nassr Uncertain Amid Contract Talks

Saudi Pro League star approaches contract expiry while Brazilian club shows interest.
Cristiano Ronaldo, the Portuguese football star, is approaching the end of his contract with Al-Nassr in the Saudi Pro League, with discussions underway regarding a potential new agreement.

The current contract is set to expire in July 2024, and while Al-Nassr is preparing a new offer, Ronaldo's future remains unclear.

Sources indicate that a proposal is in the works that would see Ronaldo earn a monthly salary of €15.2 million, equivalent to approximately €3.8 million per week or €550,000 per day, totaling around €182.4 million annually.

This significant figure is noteworthy, particularly considering Ronaldo's age of 40.

Despite the financial offering, uncertainties linger about his continuation in the Saudi league next season.

Recent reports have emerged regarding potential interest from a Brazilian club, linked to Ronaldo's participation in the upcoming Fifa Club World Cup.

Since joining Al-Nassr in January 2023, Ronaldo has been a standout performer, featuring in 110 matches, during which he scored 98 goals and delivered 19 assists.

However, despite his personal success, the team has faced challenges, exiting the AFC Champions League semi-finals, being eliminated in the Round of 16 of the domestic cup, and losing in the final of the Super Cup.

Currently, Al-Nassr sits in fourth place in the Roshen League, marking a disappointing season.

With 73 goals scored in the Saudi Pro League so far, Ronaldo is on the cusp of becoming one of the league’s top five scorers of all time.

To achieve this milestone, he would need to net 27 more goals, surpassing Romarinho with 76 goals and Bafetimbi Gomis, the former Al-Hilal striker, who has 81. Additionally, he would equal the current tally of Salem Al-Dawsari, captain of Al-Hilal.

Amid ongoing discussions, supporters and analysts alike are watching closely as Ronaldo weighs his options and potential decisions regarding his future in both club and international football.
