Hezbollah's deputy chief, Naim Qassem, asserted that a ceasefire is the only solution to the ongoing war with Israel.

He emphasized that Hezbollah would not be defeated and that residents of northern Israel could return home following a ceasefire achieved through indirect agreement.

The conflict, which erupted into full-scale war on September 23, involves heavy bombardments by Israel on Hezbollah strongholds in Lebanon.

Qassem noted the group's right to target any location in Israel from a defensive standpoint and highlighted that more than two million Israelis could be at risk as the war continues.

Hezbollah has been engaging in cross-border attacks from Lebanon into Israel, especially after Hamas's attack on Israel on October 7, 2023.
