Scholars from around world hail resounding success of Hajj

Eminent Islamic scholars and religious leaders from around the world, who came to perform Hajj, hailed the resounding success of this year’s annual pilgrimage. They made the remarks during the receptions hosted by Sheikh Dr. Muhammad Al-Issa, secretary general of the Muslim World League (MWL), at the MWL’s office in Mina.
Several senior scholars, muftis and religious leaders from various countries of the Islamic world attended the receptions. Sheikh Al-Issa also received a number of phone calls from senior Islamic figures, including muftis, heads of Islamic centers, and members of the Council of Senior Scholars in the Kingdom and the Islamic world, congratulating on the occasion of the Eid Al-Adha celebrations.

The receptions witnessed the exchange of congratulations on the occasion of Eid Al-Adha and on the occasion of the return of pilgrims from all over the world to the Holy Sites to perform Hajj after a hiatus of two years following the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.

The guests commended the great services rendered to the pilgrims and congratulated the resounding success of the Hajj season. They discussed the prospects for cooperation in serving the Islamic Ummah in addition to a number of other Islamic issues of mutual concern.

The scholars also highlighted the contents of Sheikh Al-Issa’s Arafat sermon that focused on further bolstering Muslim Ummah’s unity, upholding values, and strengthening stability. It was pointed out that the sermon was followed by more than 600 million visitors of the Manarat Al-Haramain platform, which was transmitted live, translated into 14 languages.

Dr. Al-Issa’s receptions included those with the Grand Mufti of Egypt Dr. Shawki Allam, Secretary General of the Saudi Council of Senior Scholars Dr. Fahd Al-Majed, and Secretary General of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy Dr. Qutb Mustafa Sano.
