The new coach of the Panama soccer team, Thomas Christiansen, arrived in the country this Monday. He will be tasked with tackling the road to the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar.
The strategist came from Amsterdam, along with a group of Panamanians. He must go through a mandatory quarantine, as a security protocol for the new
coronavirus.
The Panamanian Soccer Federation invited a virtual press conference for the presentation of the national team coach Thomas Christiansen, this Wednesday via Zoom.
The Panamanian team plans to focus on Penonomé.
The new Panama coach, with a contract until December 2022, will be accompanied in his coaching staff by Spanish Christian Beguer Baigorri, who has been a physical trainer since 2007 and whose last experience has worked with Christiansen at the Royale Union Saint-Gilloise in Belgium.
In the next few days, the details of the logistics plan that Fepafut has organized for the training of the Panamanian representative will be known and with a view to the start of the qualifying rounds for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
Christiansen was born on March 11, 1973 in Denmark and is also of Spanish nationality. He is married and he has two children. He has accumulated in his history a total of 186 games directed with a balance of 100 wins, 41 draws and 45 defeats, with 320 goals in favor and 185 conceded.
At this moment, a new challenge awaits the new coach of the men's senior team with Panama, a country in which he curiously spent part of his childhood due to his father's job transfer at that time.
