The ministry revealed that its inspection teams carried out over 15,000 regulatory visits, during which more than 10,000 violations were documented. The ministry has been diligently enforcing compliance, leading to the closure of 67 non-compliant hospitality facilities, including hotels and serviced apartments, in various cities across the kingdom.

During this period, the ministry also addressed over 11,000 complaints as part of its "Our Guests, Our Priority" campaign, emphasizing that it will not hesitate to impose systemic penalties on violators, which could include fines up to one million riyals, closure of the establishment, or both. The ministry also stresses the importance of service providers in the tourism sector obtaining the necessary licenses to operate.

These regulatory efforts are part of the Ministry of Tourism's commitment to ensuring that hospitality facilities across the kingdom adhere to the tourism law and its regulations, especially concerning obtaining the necessary operating licenses. This is in order to ensure the highest quality of service to visitors and tourists, and is aligned with the ministry's continuous efforts to enhance the sustainability of the tourism sector and improve the visitor and tourist experience. This comes in light of significant growth in the tourism sector, particularly with the kingdom welcoming over 100 million tourists in the past year, 2023.
