Iranian media criticizes lack of tangible concessions from the US in its latest response to Tehran's proposed negotiation agenda.
In a recent development, Iranian media has reported that the United States did not present any substantial concessions in its most recent response to Iran's suggested framework for negotiations aimed at ending the ongoing conflict.
According to Fars news agency, the American response included a five-point plan which requested Iran to maintain only one operational nuclear site and transfer its stockpile of highly enriched uranium to the US.
The report from Fars also mentioned that the US declined to release 25 percent of Iran's frozen assets abroad or provide any compensation for the damage inflicted upon Iran during the war, which commenced on February 28.
Furthermore, it was stated that the cessation of hostilities on all fronts is contingent upon the commencement of negotiations.
Mehr news agency concurred with Fars' assessment by asserting that the US sought concessions without offering any in return, likely leading to an impasse in the negotiation process.
Iran initially proposed a ceasefire encompassing Israel's operations in Lebanon and the termination of the American naval blockade imposed on Iranian ports since April 13.
Additionally, it called for the lifting of all US-imposed sanctions and the release of Iranian assets abroad that have been frozen under longstanding US sanctions, as outlined by the Iranian Foreign Ministry during a recent press conference.
Fars reported that Iran's proposal emphasized its continued management of the strategic Strait of Hormuz, an essential energy route which has largely remained closed since the start of hostilities.
In response to potential American aggression, Iranian armed forces spokesman Abolfazl Shekarchi issued a warning to US President
Donald Trump, stating that any renewed attacks on Iran would result in unprecedented and surprising scenarios for the US military.
Similarly, Deputy Speaker of Parliament Hamidreza Hajjibabaei cautioned against targeting Iranian oil infrastructure, threatening measures that could disrupt global oil access from the region.
