Cardi B Praises Saudi Arabia’s Cleanliness and Order, Contrasts It With ‘Ghetto’ America During Visit

American rapper highlights Saudi Arabia’s tidy streets and strict public order while reflecting on life back in the United States
While visiting Saudi Arabia for performances and cultural engagements, American rapper Cardi B offered effusive remarks about her experience in the Kingdom, focusing on the country’s cleanliness, public order and differences with daily life in the United States.

Speaking to fans during a livestream from Riyadh, she described Saudi Arabia as “very clean,” emphasising the absence of visible homelessness and orderly streets that struck her as markedly different from what she has observed in major U.S. cities.

Her comments reflected a personal reaction to the environment around her during the trip and her surprise at how tidy the urban spaces appeared to her.

Cardi B said she had not encountered people living openly on the streets and that the overall ambience felt brighter and more orderly than what she characterised as “ghetto” and “dusty” in parts of America.

In her remarks, she also discussed the strictness of local laws and the simplicity of adhering to them, noting that authorities enforce regulations firmly but that those rules were straightforward for those who respect them.

She acknowledged that before arriving she had concerns about cultural and social restrictions, including laws affecting women and other groups, but said her experience had revealed a different perspective on daily life in the Kingdom.

Cardi B contrasted this with her sentiments about life back home, expressing that she felt underappreciated in the United States, citing her experience with taxation and public discourse.

These reflections quickly drew attention online, prompting mixed reactions from followers globally.

Some praised her candid observations about Saudi Arabia’s public spaces and hospitality, while others questioned the comparison with American social challenges such as homelessness.

The discussion has highlighted divergent views on how different societies balance public order, cultural norms and social freedoms, adding to broader conversations about global urban life and perceptions of safety and civility.
